My Mommy Entry # 7

My In My Womb 3d/4d Ultrasound Experience

Last Saturday, we had our 6th checkup with our OB-Gynecologist. So far, everything's ok. I passed my Glucose Challenge test, but I still need to cut on my sugar intake. We were also able to hear our little one's heartbeat. Next week I will be having my Tetanus Toxoid shot -- scary!!

After the checkup, we proceeded to Makati for our scheduled 3d4d ultrasound at In My Womb. I have heard lots of great reviews about this ultrasound center so we have decided to have our ultrasound there. Their center is located at 2f, The Link Bldg, Ayala Makati. The building is beside Landmark. Before proceeding, we had our lunch first at Ineng's Special BBQ -- great food, terrible customer service!

After eating, we then proceded to the 2nd level. We were greeted by a courteous nurse and I told her that I was scheduled for an ultrasound with Dra. Ramos. I would actually like to have the procedure done by the owner, Dra. Shiela Illescas, since i have heard lots of good feedback from other patients. But when I called in to have my appointment scheduled, I was informed that there were already 25 patients in line. So I had to settle for Dra. Shelma Jane Ramos. I was hoping and praying that she is a nice Dr...

We waited for about 30minutes because there was another patient in line ahead of us. Good thing I made an appointment with them in advance because I didn't want to wait too long. We settled our bill first and waited for our turn. I was already giddy at this point. I was just so excited to see our baby.

Then our turn came...we were called in by a young (and pretty!) doctor. Dra. Ramos was so nice and patient. She just asked me a few questions and then she proceeded with the scan. I was hoping and praying that our baby is in a good mood that day and wishing that she will show her face to us. And so she did! She was sleeping during the first part of the procedure and we freely saw her face. She was so cute! We saw her smile, yawn and even eat! Dra. Ramos said that the baby is so matakaw. Everything was going quite well -- and then she woke up...she started hiding her face with her arms. We spent a few minutes prodding her to remove her hands on her face. And when she didn't, Dra Ramos decided to do the measurements first and to confirm that we are having a baby GIRL! Everything is normal. And I hope it stays this way until the end of my term. After measuring everything, we went back to convincing our baby to show her face. Dra. Ramos asked me to cough, laugh, change positions, and Daddy Jake was even asking the baby to please show her face. And after a few minutes she did show her face! Dra. Ramos was able to take some good facial shots. And then, she hid her face again...And then. feeling that she won't show it again after a few minutes, Dra. Ramos ended the scan. For me it was bitin! I was thinking, "hey, we've been here for only a few minutes!" But Jake told me that we've been doing the procedure for about 45 minutes already! I just can't get enough of my baby!

The experience was exhilarating. It was so overhwhelming to see our little one moving inside me. The experience was worth the price. And even though some are discouraging us to have a 3d4d scan, given another chance, I would do it over and over again. Nothing beats the feeling of seeing your baby for the 1st time.

And now, we're just so excited to see her in flesh! can't wait for October!!!

I'm sorry to disgaree but Shelma Jane Suller Villanueva-Ramos is most of the time late in her clinic at MegaClinic. Her time is 9am but usually arrives at 11:45 am. Disrespectful of the time of others.

Yes, Dr. Shelma Ramos is a very good obgyne. She is my obgyne, and had delivered 2 of my babies. I think you just caught her in bad timing when you visited her in megaclinic because as an obgyne, I understand she is on call anytime. The best thing about her is she is a sonologist. So you dont have to go to a differrent doctor to have your sonogram and interpretations. She handled 2of my Pregnancies, both of which are high risk. She was very sympathetic yet profrssional when we lost our first baby due to Trisomy 13. She waa with us during our second pregnancy, whi ch was an IVF baby. She has a heart and a straightforward attitude, which helped me and.my husband go through our pregnancy journey. Next year, we are going for baby number 3, through IVF again. We'll habe our done again in Kato and go back to BGC for Doc Shelma. I'm sorry for the long post, but I cannot just let someone label a good doctor disrespectful. I dont usually post comments on forums like this, but I'm commenting with my email so you'll know I'm real.

For me, she was a nice and a good doctor, easy to talk to and have a pleasant personality. Don't judge her because of being late for some time, it's actually usual when she has emergency calls.

I agree, you shouldn't take it against doctors when the arrive late, we don't know what emergency or lives they had to save beforehand. Does she complain when she has to deliver your baby at 3 in the morning? no, she gets up and does her job and ensures your safety and your baby's safety. If you want to talk about respect, start by respecting others as well. I speak as one of her patients who, like you, had to wait... maybe because she had to complete an emergency CS, or was up all night delivering a baby. I too, gave birth at 4am and she was there for me at 3 am, no make up, obviously lacking sleep, but with a warm, reassuring smile.

Our Weekened Getaway @ Tagaytay (a.k.a. My Post Birthday Celebration)

As mentioned in my prev ious post, hubby and I were planning to have a weekend getaway in Tagaytay. And thank Go d it pushed through! The weather was terrific that day des pite some rain showers during the week. It was a gr eat gift f or me. I was so excited the day before our trip that I wasn’t a b le to do an ything at work. Hehehe…I actually just searched for places to go in Tagaytay. I have been there many times a nd I wanted to go somewhere we both haven’t been to. Unfortunately, there was not so much choice for us since we will be commuting and most of the unexplored sights in Tagaytay can only be reached if you have your own vehicle with you. Oh well, since hubby and I are together in this trip, it r eally didn’t matter a nymore. So, without further ado, here’s a rundown of our last week end’s experience: FRIDAY, JUNE 12; It was a holiday but we opted to wake up early so that we could already get ready for our trip. We left our house at around 9:00AM....
